Explosion at Banda, one dead, six rushed to hospital with severe injuries

There has been a gas explosion in Banda at a factory called Fabrication Systems Uganda Ltd. The explosion is said to have occurred at around 10 a.m.

The incident killed one person and injured six people. The deceased has been identified as Tiburiwa Diana, a marketing officer at the factory and his body has been taken to Mulago city mortuary for postmortem.

Those nursing injuries and are receiving treatment from different hospitals include; Nanono Sylvia, Wekoyera Emmanuel, Nekesa Sharon, Opio Evans, Kasawa Bernabas and Namukuze Marry.

Police have temporarily sealed off the scene where the explosion took place and all work is halted as investigations go on to establish what exactly caused the explosion.
