As we have been reporting all week, Kyadondo East Member of Parliament Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine has faced stiff resistance from Police who have blocked his scheduled consultation meetings for his Presidential bid in the coming 2021 general elections.

Furthermore, the venues he had earlier booked to hold these meetings from pleaded to refund his deposit citing pressure from security authorities that commanded them to not allow the legislator and his People Power entourage set foot on their premises.

Bobi Wine has had enough of that and he is poised to petition the Electoral Commission (EC) today to seek clarification on why Police has been a stumbling block to holding his consultation meetings.

“Tomorrow morning, we head to the Electoral Commission’s head offices to demand for answers about the continued blockage of these consultations. The election cycle has started. We are demanding for a level playing field to take on Mr. Museveni,” Bobi Wine said yesterday.

Before the commencement of the meetings, EC wrote to Bobi Wine and told him to desist from holding his meetings in open grounds and doing anything that adds up to campaigns.

Police has already deployed at the EC Headquarters on Jinja road ahead of Bobi Wine’s meeting with EC officials today.
