Henry Ssuubi, a Makerere University student who was last year trolled on social media for reporting to his hall of residence with a metallic suitcase is continuing to elevate his status at the University.

We informed you last year about Ssuubi’s appointment as the Chief Fresher by the University Guild President Julius Kateregga. The ‘local boy’ is now dreaming even bigger as he has expressed interest in running for a competitive political office at the University.

Ssuubi has unveiled a poster that shows he will be contesting for a position of a Guild Representative Councillor (GRC) of the School of Engineering at the College of Engineering, Design, Art and Technology (CEDAT) in the forthcoming 86th guild elections.

According to Campus Bee, Ssuubi’s reason to stand is to use the office to advocate for the disadvantaged students at Makerere. He wants to use the Guild House to air out the voices of the less privileged students.

“Ssuubi Henry Kiyimba, the man of the people, made by the people, here for the people. Fresh minds here, no pollution yet, face with tears of joy,” Ssuubi captioned the poster on Twitter.
