As we draw closer to 2021 general elections, everyone that wants to stand for any post in the leadership of this country is already mobilising support from the public, and the same is true for Alliance for National Transformation (ANT) Party President Rtd. Maj. Gen. Mugisha Muntu.

While speaking to his supporters yesterday, Muntu talked about the coming general elections and continued to deliver his firm belief in their power and ability to defeat President Museveni next year.

Muntu said that although people have a feeling that President Museveni is undefeatable in an election, they should understand that that is what he wants them to believe, but it is indeed possible to defeat him.

“Many people now think that elections cannot defeat Gen. Museveni. That is what he wants – he wants you to think that he is impossible; he cannot be defeated. There is nothing a man or a woman can win if he/she doesn’t believe that it is possible. We believe that we can,” Muntu said.

He added, “We have carefully studied the situation obtaining in the country and chosen this path (grassroot mobilisation). If any group gets into power using another approach, better. But if he is still there by election time, we are better off having organised groups to defeat him.”

Unlike the over 29 candidates that have publicly declared their intentions to stand for the Presidency next year, Mugisha Muntu has not yet done so.
