Kira road police station has arrested Wilson Tumwesigye, a radiographer attached to Kamwokya Christian Caring Community for allegedly raping a nine months’ pregnant woman who was under his care.

The pregnant woman alleges that she visited the clinic to seek medication as she has challenges with her genitals. While in the radiography room, the woman says Tumwesigye started acting weird while carrying out the scan.

“He poured chemicals on my genitals and after he pulled me closer as I faced up with my legs widely open. I looked at the scan TV but I couldn’t see anything,” the woman said.

The woman became suspicious after the scan and decided to involve other doctors who scanned her again and confirmed she had semen in her private parts.

Tumwesigye fled the Kamwokya-based health centre shortly after allegedly committing the crime before he was later arrested and detained at Kira Road Police Station. Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
