Fresh lockdown is looming in Uganda as the country continues to register high numbers of new COVID-19 cases especially in the central business district, Kampala.

Sources say that President Yoweri Museveni has today called for a crisis meeting with the National Taskforce at State House Entebbe to discuss the way forward in the fight against the deadly coranavirus.

Dr. Kizza Besigye has said that Uganda made a good decision to lockdown early but in the course they big government officials mismanaged the whole process.

“How the population responds to the pandemic depends on the respect and trust they have in the people disseminating the information. It is important that they are believable and trusted,” Besigye said before hitting that Uganda is stuck with hyenas keeping the country’s resources.

“We are a country in a deep crisis. We have a terrible governance situation,” he said.

According to Besigye, Uganda can no longer lockdown its people because it cannot financially sustain the population.

“A lockdown is desirable, but no longer available to us. We are now on our own. I have been telling people to work on their immunity,” Besigye said.

He added, “The masses saw the Members of Parliament getting Shs20 million each while they starve in their homes.”
