The National Unity Platform (NUP) has continued to demonstrate strong political influence in the Buganda region following the 2026 general elections, even as the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) won 55 parliamentary seats across the area.

While the NRM made notable inroads in several constituencies, NUP remains a key player in Buganda’s parliamentary politics. The party also registered improved performance in the Busoga region, where it won more seats than it did in the 2021 elections.

In the 11th Parliament, NUP held a total of 57 Members of Parliament.
