Besigye says leaders are the problem of Uganda as they’re on stalls ready to be bought at any amount

Four-time presidential candidate Dr Kizza Besigye has said that Ugandans are united and ready to push for the desired change but their leaders are willingly betraying them for individual financial gains from the regime.

The former Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) president believes that the leaders of Uganda are the problem as they are disunited hence delaying change.

“We’re the ones on the stalls to be bought at any amount. We’re too important to take risks for our country. We don’t want to be taken to Luzira,” he says.

Besigye reveals that change cannot be a sole responsibility as all those affected must stand and act together.

“We must find a solution together,” Besigye says

He explains that he stepped down from FDC because the struggle for liberation must be broader than the role of a political party.

“I’m extremely encouraged by the mood in this country. That mood that was in Luweero must continue to build up,” he says.

Besigye explains that every political situation on the globe is unique and each one takes a different trajectory.

“For Uganda to be liberated our mission should not be to win an office, the mission is to win popular power from the group that is holding the country hostage,” he says.
