Bizonto comedy group granted cash bail of 100K each

News reaching our desk indicates that the local comedy group Bizonto, who were today morning arrested and detained for promoting sectarianism and inciting violence have been granted a cash bail of Shs100,000 each.

The comedy group was arrested today morning over a video they posted on July 15, 2020 where the group called people to pray for leaders in the Ugandan government.

The four radio Simba presenters popularly known for their stage name Bizonto, loosely translated as ‘the foolish’ including real names, Julius Sserwanja, Simon Peter Ssabakaki, Merceli Mbabali, and Gold Kimatono were picked from Radio Simba premises in Bukoto.
