President Yoweri Museveni has denied reports indicating that him together with members of his inner circle were offered COVID-19 vaccines.

In a story adopted by Daily Monitor from The Wall Street Journal, an American newspaper, it was reported that Museveni’s inner circle received jabs of China’s Sinopharm Covid-19 vaccine months ahead of health workers and other vulnerable groups.

While delivering his Women’s Day speech, Museveni denied the allegations before disclosing how he has already filed a case against Daily Monitor.

“In the meantime, I am going to make some money from Daily Monitor. They lied that I had been vaccinated together with my wife. I am going to make them bankrupt unless they apologize and lie down. I’ve already filed a case in court. Sabalwanyi does not act like that,” said Museveni.

Museveni said that he’s protecting himself just like other Ugandans by observing the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

“When Corona came, we analysed it and told you that it’s possible to defeat it. I’m glad majority Ugandans listened and ignored the liars. We’ve had very few deaths as compared to what happened in other countries,” he said.
