The National Unity Platform (NUP) party is set to hold prayers starting today on Holy Thursday to Easter Monday to pray for their jailed and tortured colleagues.

Speaking this morning during a meeting between NUP leadership and families of missing and arrested colleagues at party headquarters in Kamwokya, Masaka Municipality legislator Mathias Mpuuga said that they’re going to use the holy week to pray for their comrades who are in the hands of the dictator.

“Our unity will send a strong message to our tormentors that we are not about to let go,” said Mpuuga.

He also revealed that the party is going to give Easter packages to families of jailed colleagues.

Yesterday marked 90 days since Robert Kyagulanyi’s campaign team was arrested in Kalangala. Over 60 members were arrested, charged in military court martial and remanded to Kitalya Prison.

Through his social media platforms, Bobi Wine marked the day saying; “Looked at this picture and remembered how much hell each day was on that campaign trail. Today, most people in the picture have made 90 days since their brutal and illegal arrest. We find strength in knowing that no amount of cruelty ever saved petty despots from the inevitable.”
