Forum for Democratic Change’s (FDC) Ssemujju Nganda has declared himself the right and best person for the position of the Speaker of the 11th parliament.

According to Ssemujju, incumbent Rebecca Kadaga and Jacob Oulanyah are now short of ideas and he (Ssemujju) has the best answers to the problems of parliament.

“As we are choosing a Speaker on Monday, think about Uganda, not individuals,” Ssemujju said.

He added, “I have not heard anybody say the NRM candidates are better than Semujju. They are only saying ‘but you don’t have the numbers’. So, I thought we should be voting the best candidate.”

The Kira municipality legislator urged that parliament should not be personalised as it has been made for the position of the President of Uganda.

The ruling NRM party, which holds the majority in parliament, is expected to carry out party primaries to choose its candidates for the position of the Speaker and Deputy speaker.
