Every vehicle, motorcycle to have a digital monitor, says Museveni

President Yoweri Museveni has disclosed that every time ‘the schemers of insecurity’ provoke his regime, the security forces increase their capacity to counter react the threat.

While delivering his speech at the National Budget reading ceremony at Kololo, Museveni said the forensic capacity of the Police has now improved and they can now easily analyse and identify suspects at the scene of crime.

He revealed that the issue of misuse of guns will soon be no more as the exercise of registering them has been a success.

“I did not know that you can fingerprint these guns. I was told that we have done so to all or almost all guns. I have been told that they now know what gun was used in the Gen Wamala incident,” said Museveni.

Going forward, Museveni said that every vehicle and motorcycle will have a digital monitor.

“If you try to remove it, we shall go for you. It will show us where you at any one time. As soon as there is a crime, we go. I don’t want any wasting time in investigations,” he said.
