The General Court Martial has this afternoon released on bail Robert Kyagulanyi’s singing partner, Ali Buken alias Nubian Li, Eddy Ssebufu aka Eddy Mutwe and 16 others.

The group was arrested last year in December from Kalangala Island where they had escorted Kyagulanyi for his campaigns, and later detained in Masaka. They have spent six months in detention.

The group was then sent to the General Court Martial in Makindye and charged with unlawful possession of ammunition for being found with four AK47 rifle bullets in Makerere.
“Thanks to our legal team and everyone who has worked tirelessly to ensure these comrades regain their freedom,” said NUP in a statement.
