President Yoweri Museveni has blamed the ‘idiotic’ use of social media as a big problem to circulation of fake news.

For two weeks now, various social media pages have been issuing different allegations surrounding Museveni’s health with some announcing him dead. State House has continuously refuted the reports.

While presiding over the swearing ceremony of the second batch of ministers, Museveni said Security forces need to urgently tame social media misusers.

“The social media has been telling people that Museveni is dead when I went to Matuga the other day people were lining up to see me. We need to deal with these people spreading lies on social media. Security needs to apprehend the perpetrators,” said Museveni.
