The past weeks have seen the resurgence machete-welding assailants in the Masaka sub region and as of yesterday 28 people have since been killed.

With security agencies now camped in the area in an attempt to solve the ‘puzzle’, President Yoweri Museveni has promised to condole with those that have lost their loved ones with UGX 10 Million per family, according to now the former Masaka Resident District Commissioner Fred Bamwine.

Different government officials yesterday camped in Masaka and one of them was the Internal Affairs State Minister, Gen David Muhoozi. He said that 69 suspects have so far been arrested in connection to the murders.

However, the panga welding gang continues to drop ‘ebibaluwa (letters) warning residents of more terror raids. Some residents are said to be migrating to safer places.

13 of the 28 lost lives were killed last week and according to reports from the area, no death was registered yesterday night as security has been beefed up in the area.
