Prime Minister Robina Nabbanja has responded to reports that her office is filled with her relatives saying it is okay to appoint her own team and leave with them when the time comes.

Nabbanja made these remarks at a local meeting in Mbale. She cited the fact that her working with her daughter is not illegal.

“When you come as a Prime Minister, you come with a team. That’s why these jobs are contractual. Five years. If I go, I go with everybody.”

This was in response to reports that she was employing her relatives in the office.

She went on to add that the contracts of the people who were in the office in the previous term ended with Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda, who she referred to as her brother.

She urged the local leaders to monitor and prioritize service delivery in government facilities.

She went on to blast leaders who make policies in town and forget to reach the ground. She added that good policies are nothing if they are not implemented.
