The television personality’s efforts seem to be paying off as he has gotten an award from the Uganda AIDS Commission in recognition of his efforts against fighting HIV-related stigma.

MC Kats has received this award at today’s Philly Lutaaya Memorial Lecture that was organized by the commission.

The award was handed over to the entertainer by Tooro Kingdom highest echelon, His Majesty King of Tooro, Dr. Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV, who was the keynote speaker at this year’s lecture.

The moment was commemorated on the Uganda AIDS Commission’s Twitter page with the post; “His Majesty @KingOyoOfficial hand an award to @mckatsug in recognition of his efforts in the fight against #HIV related Stigma.”

The tweet was complimented with picture evidence of King Oyo handing the gong over to MC Kats.

MC Kats took the honor in great stride as he took a screenshot of the tweet and had it pinned on his official page.

The theme of this year’s Philly Lutaaya Memorial Lecture is Ending HIV stigma-Promoting Resilient Communities.

The Uganda AIDS Commission was established by the Statute of Parliament, in 1992 under the Office of the President, to ensure a focused and harmonized HIV/AIDS response.
