Uganda Law Council has approved the former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Gen Kale Kayihura for legal practice.

Kayihura is among the applicants that are eligible for enrolment after they were approved during the Law Council meeting held on November 10, 2021.

He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Law from Makerere University in 1978 and later proceeded to the London School of Economics (University of London) where he graduated with a Master’s degree in Law in 1982.

The Council consists of a judge appointed by the Attorney General after consultation with the Chief Justice, who is the chairperson of the Council; the Solicitor General or his or her representative; the President of the Uganda Law Society and; the Director of the Law Development Centre.
