The National Unity Platform President Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine has stressed the need for NUP leaders to be referred to as an all-embracing party.

While addressing his party Members at Kamwokya, the NUP principal challenged all his party members to learn all anthems of the different tribes in the country.

“We are all Ugandans but again, we all belong to different ethnicities we salute all of them and it’s important that we learn all the anthems. We are the National Unity Platform and we should be seen to reflect and embrace every ethnicity.  I want to challenge all leaders to learn all anthems of all ethnicities. It is important that we are seen to be national and all embracing,” said Bobi Wine.

He also called the red beret ban a sham, he also ordered his supporters to wear the red berets.

“As leaders of NUP, we shall resume the wearing of red beret after all we break no law. If the army thinks that it is part of their stores, let them wear this particular red beret,” Bobi Wine said. Last September, the Uganda People’s Defence Forces gazetted the red beret as one of it’s military stores.
