A police officer identified as Simon Chemonges has been knocked dead by a driver who was reportedly attending a zoom meeting.
The incident happened on Tuesday at around 4 pm on Jinja Road near Uganda Management Insititute (UMI).
According to Police’s chief political commissar Asan Kasingye, the officer who was a boda boda passenger returning from duty died instantly.
“The officer was a passenger on a boda boda, in uniform and returning from duty. Drivers, please avoid gadgets that take away your attention and focus,” he said.
