A joint security team has embarked on a manhunt for an assailant who shot and killed a security guard at Advance Smart Microfinance in Wobulenzi town.

The police claim that at around 1 p.m. on Wednesday, the mayor of Wobulenzi called them with information about a shooting in which a person dressed as a lunatic shot a private security guard.

“Our territorial police in Wobulenzi responded to the scene immediately and found the victim lying dead in a pool of blood,” says the police.

The deceased was identified as Odong Leon, aged 20, a guard from Security Group Africa, SGA.

The attacker, who also robbed the deceased’s gun, allegedly fled the scene while in possession of the weapon used in the shooting.

“The joint team has so far recovered some items suspected to belong to the assailant who fled to the valley,” said the police.

The police have urged the public to remain calm as the situation is under control and all efforts are underway to arrest the assailant.
