Deputy Rubaga Resident City Council Anderson Burora has requested Inspector General of Police Okoth Martins Ochola to caution event organizers, artists, and comedians against becoming political activists.

While addressing the media at Uganda Media Centre this afternoon, Burora claimed that the several violent incidents that happened during the festive season events were a result of involving politics at some of the gatherings.

He further stated that it is from such a background that they have submitted a list of event organizers, musicians, and comedians who turned their work into politics.

“We’ve recommended that before the IGP takes action, he should use his discretion to engage those persons for caution,” Burora said.

It should be noted that during the Nkuuka festival, several artists, including Ray G, Sheebah Kalungi, and Jose Chameleone, among others, were pelted with bottles during their respective performances.

The incidents have caused mixed reactions among the public, with many attributing them to political and tribal differences.
