One dead after three Eritrean nationals fight in a bar in Makindye

Police in Kabalagala have arrested two suspects on allegations of murdering their fellow Eritrean national. The deceased, identified as Hannibal Tewelde, aged 30 years, was an Eritrean national, a refugee, and a resident of Lukuli zone, Lukuli parish, Makindye Division.

The suspects, currently detained at Kabalagala Police Station, are Siem Fustem and Henok Foto, both Eritrean nationals, refugees, and residents of Lukuli zone, Lukuli parish, Makindye Division.

According to the police preliminary report, on the night of Sunday, July 7, the deceased and the suspects were drinking at My Place Bar, within AD Plaza Apartment, along Kibuli Road. A fight broke out among the trio, and one was hit on the head with a beer bottle.

The suspects rushed him to Nsambya Hospital for medical attention, but he was pronounced dead upon arrival. The case was reported at Kabalagala Police Station, and police visited the scene to record statements from relevant witnesses.

The body was taken to Mulago City Mortuary for a postmortem examination.
