Special Police Constable (SPC) Frank Tibaingana, attached to Kitemba police post in Kicucura sub-county, has been arrested for allegedly defiling a 14-year-old girl.
A preliminary report indicates that the officer had been defiling the minor until the victim’s aunt caught him red-handed on August 30. The aunt reported the incident to Kagadi police.
Julius Hakiza, Albertine region police spokesperson, confirmed the incident, stating that Kagadi police arrested Tibaingana and took him to Kagadi central police station, where he is currently being detained.
Once investigations are complete, the police officer will be arraigned in court to face charges of aggravated defilement.
The victim underwent a medical examination, and the results showed that she had been severely defiled.
