A father has been lynched to death after hacking his 15-year-old daughter to death using a panga. The incident happened on March 3 at around 1 a.m. in Kitengeesa village, Masaka City.

The deceased father has been identified as Mwebe Deo, while the daughter is Sophia Nantume, a Senior Three student at Buddu Islamic Secondary School in Kitengeesa.

Grandmother Maidinah Nakayi stated that Mwebe arrived at their home late at night. She said that he looked agitated as he sharpened his panga before attacking Sophia, who was asleep in her room.

As Mwebe hacked his daughter, he allegedly kept accusing her of reporting him to the police.

The locals mobilized to capture the suspect upon hearing about the incident. Mwebe initially fled but later surrendered, only to be lynched to death by an outraged mob.

Twaha Kasirye, the regional spokesperson, confirmed the incident and said that they are investigating it.
