Police in Mukono District are investigating the murder of Pamela Tumwebaze, the 46-year-old Director of Student Affairs at Uganda Christian University (UCU), who was found dead at her home in the early hours of 11 February 2026.

Tumwebaze was attacked at her residence in Guafu West Village, Seeta Ward, Goma Division, at about 2am. According to Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Racheal Kawala, preliminary investigations indicate that she was strangled.

Police say the incident came to light after the family’s housemaid reportedly discovered an unknown man inside Tumwebaze’s bedroom. The suspect was allegedly dressed in the victim’s jeans and stockings. He fled the scene, taking with him a laptop bag belonging to the deceased.

Police have since launched a manhunt for the suspect, deploying specialised teams to track him down.

“We remain fully committed to ensuring that the perpetrator is apprehended and brought to justice,” Kawala said.

Investigations and search operations are ongoing.
