Police have arrested eight suspects in connection with the robbery of Shs63 million at Gwanda Shopping Mall in Kisenyi, Kampala. The robbery happened on February 20, 2026.
According to Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Racheal Kawala, the suspects are part of a group seen in a viral video attacking a Mobile Money and Agent Banking operator at the mall.
In the video, the attackers are seen armed with pangas as they confront the agent and flee with the cash.
Police have also recovered five motorcycles believed to have been used by the suspects during the robbery.
Authorities say the operation to track down other members of the group is still ongoing.
