Uganda Airlines has announced that it will restart its long-haul flights to London and Mumbai on March 7, 2026, after several weeks of suspension caused by aircraft maintenance.

The national carrier had temporarily halted the routes after grounding its two wide-body aircraft for unscheduled repairs. The disruption affected passengers travelling on the airline’s intercontinental services.

In a travel advisory released on Thursday, March 5, the airline confirmed that flights between Entebbe International Airport and the two cities will now resume. However, the airline did not clarify whether all technical work on the aircraft has been fully completed.

Some reports have suggested that Uganda Airlines may have temporarily leased a Boeing 787 Dreamliner from Ethiopian Airlines to help restore operations on the affected routes.

Meanwhile, the airline said flights to Dubai are still under review. This is because airspace in the United Arab Emirates and the wider Middle East remains partially restricted following rising tensions linked to the conflict involving Israel, the United States and Iran.

Uganda Airlines grounded its two Airbus A330‑800neo aircraft on February 20 for unscheduled maintenance. These jets form the backbone of the airline’s long-haul operations, connecting Entebbe to destinations such as London, Mumbai, Dubai and Lagos.
