Victoria University Kampala welcomed nearly 5,000 new students during its July Intake Orientation, held last week, in what the institution’s leadership has described as one of the most memorable starts to an academic journey in the university’s recent history.

Vice Chancellor Dr. Lawrence Muganga said the turnout reflected the trust that families across Uganda and beyond continue to place in the institution. “Behind every admission is a dream, a family’s trust, and a student ready to shape their future,” he said, describing the scale of the intake as both humbling and inspiring.

The orientation drew students from Uganda, the wider East African region, and the international community, spanning both on-campus and digital learners. Dr. Muganga extended his gratitude to every parent, guardian, and student who chose Victoria University for this intake, as well as to the staff who organised the two-day programme.

He framed the university’s offering around what he called “future-proof education,” telling new students that the institution is committed to helping each of them become the best version of themselves, regardless of whether they study in person or online.

“The journey has only just begun, and we are grateful to be part of it,” Dr. Muganga said, adding that the university was looking forward to watching the new cohort grow and challenge themselves over the course of their studies. Victoria University Kampala, a chartered private university headquartered on Jinja Road in the city’s central business district, has in recent years positioned itself around flexible, technology-enabled learning.
