Police in Kampala are investigating the death of a 35-year-old man who was allegedly stabbed during a dispute over Shs2,000 won in a card game.
The incident happened at about 1:00am on 17 August 2026 at Twine’s Bar in Kireku Zone, Bweyogerere Division.
According to Police spokesperson SP Racheal Kawala, the deceased, identified as Katabani Julius, was involved in a dispute with Nuwamanya Hamza after Hamza allegedly took the Shs2,000 that Katabani had won while playing cards.
The disagreement reportedly escalated into a confrontation outside the bar, where Hamza allegedly stabbed Katabani with a knife.
Kawala said police have arrested three suspects as investigations continue and efforts are underway to trace the main suspect.
The deceased’s body was recovered from the scene as police commenced investigations into the circumstances surrounding the killing.
