Police and Kyambogo University are investigating the death of a student whose body was found in her hostel room in Banda, Kampala.
The student has been identified as Precious Musimenta, a Bachelor’s degree student in Accounting and Finance and a resident attached to North Hall at Kyambogo University.
According to a communication issued by the university’s Office of the Dean of Students on 28 September 2026, Musimenta was found dead in her room at Sports Pro-Hostel on Monday.
Her body was taken to City Mortuary for a postmortem examination to establish the cause of death.
The university has not disclosed the circumstances surrounding her death or indicated whether she had been suffering from any known illness.
Dr Agnes Nakimuli Mugalu, the Dean of Students, said the university’s Student Welfare Department had contacted Musimenta’s family as arrangements for her burial get underway.
Police are also investigating the incident, while authorities await the postmortem findings to establish the cause of death.
