It is reported that the boat on which the duo and 118 others were sailing capsized at Mutima beach in Mukono District on Lake Victoria at about 5:30pm on Saturday.

The death toll according to the army has so far reached 30 while those that have been rescued alive today are 26.

According to the spokesperson of the Uganda People’s Defense Forces (UPDF), the joint search operation with the police and locals is unlikely to find any other survivors considering the time lapse but said that the search and rescue operation will continue nonetheless.
