Health minister Dr Jane Ruth Aceng is under fire for flouting COVID-19 guidelines but President Yoweri Museveni is not willing to follow suit as he’s still obeying to the set regulations.

On Saturday, Museveni and first lady Janet Museveni attended the “scientific” wedding of Museveni’s cousin, Phiona Akoragye, and her husband, Herbert Kihanda, in Entebbe.

“Phiona’s father, the Late Mzee Eriya Riisi, was a brother to my father, Late Mzee Amos Kaguta. Herbert is a son of Late Cosmas Mbagaya and Edida Katendwa Kasharu,” Museveni explained his relation with Phiona in a post.

The wedding that only had 14 guests was presided over by Archbishop Steven Kazimba.

“Like I have said previously, what is important about a marriage ceremony are the legal and spiritual elements, not the social fanfare,” Museveni said.
