Victoria University’s 10th graduation ceremony is under way at Speke Resort Convention Centre in Munyonyo, Kampala, bringing together graduands, parents, guardians, university staff and invited guests to celebrate the achievements of the graduating students.

The two-day ceremony, held on Monday, 19 October, and Tuesday, 20 October 2026, is running under the theme “The Future Is Here”. The university expects to graduate about 2,500 students across the two days.

Monday’s session features graduands from the Faculty of Science and Technology and the Faculty of Health Sciences, while Tuesday’s ceremony will focus on students from the Faculty of Business and Management and the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.

Jay Sakaria, vice chairperson of the university council, and Meera Ruparelia, a member of the board of directors, are representing businessman Dr Sudhir Ruparelia, chairman of the Ruparelia Group, which owns the university.

The graduation comes days after the National Council for Higher Education’s revised institutional rankings placed Victoria University second among universities in Uganda, with 87.4 points, behind Makerere University.

Established in 2013, Victoria University is a chartered private institution with its main campus at Victoria Towers on Jinja Road in Kampala.
