Boxer Juma Miiro has this morning won bronze medal after losing his semifinal bout to India’s Amit Panghal in the 46-49kgs fly weight on a unanimous points decision.  In boxing, semi-finalists who fail to make to the finals receive guaranteed bronze medal.

The young boxer has been staging impressive performances hence making him reach that far.

Meanwhile Winnie Nanyondo, Dorcus Ajok and Halima Nakaayi were also back on the race track for the women’s 800m but unfortunately only Nanyondo recovered the 1500m finals setback as she cruised through to the final.

At the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games she came second in heat three as she posted 2:0069 few seconds behind Kenya’s Emily Cherotich Tuei. The final is due today at 12:45pm at the Carrara Stadium.
