Farouk Miya signs for Croatian club

Uganda Cranes creative player Farouk Miya has joined Croatian outfit HNK Gorica on two year deal from Belgian side, Standard De Liege at undisclosed fee. Gorica plays in the Croatian Second Football League.

Miya completed his 2017-2018 campaign on loan in Azerbaijan top tier club, Sebail FK Football Club. He made 13 appearances scoring only two goals. Before heading to Azerbaijan, Miya was also on loan at Belgian club Royal Excel Mouscron Peruwelz Football Club.

Miya started his football career at Bulo Parents joined St Marys’ Kitende and also played for KJT where he participated in Airtel Rising Stars. Professionally, he started at Vipers SC helping them to secure their maiden league title in 2014-2015 season. His great performance at club and national level  helped him secure a move to Standard Liege in 2016.
