With January being a transfer window for most leagues in the world, various clubs are on the hunt to recruit players who they think have the qualities to help them achieve their season or long term goals.

Shockingly, Turkish TFF First League club Memenenspor Football Club has done the unthinkable after signing a Gambian footballer Alpha Jallow, and sacking him only after 24 hours.

Memenenspor had given Jallow a two-year contract and officially announced him on their official website together with Ivorian footballer Ibrahim Sangare.

‘’Striker Alpha Jallow and Ibrahim Sangare have agreed to sign for two years for Menemenspor. This season they will be wearing the uniform yellow and blue,’’ the statement read.

A day later, the club terminated Jallow’s contract for a reported mistaken identity. The club said it realized they had signed a wrong player after reviewing Jallow’s details. The club’s officials added that they were meant to sign another Gambian born player Lamin Jallow.

Alpha Jallow is now back at his club Gd Alconchetense, a third division club in Portugal.
