Uganda Cranes coach Milutin “Micho” Sredojevic has declared himself ‘the best coach ever to step on the soil of Uganda.’

On Sunday, Micho summoned a preliminary squad of 33 players to start preparations for the 2023 AFCON Qualifiers. The players entered camp at Cranes Paradise Hotel-Kisasi on Monday.

Through its social media handle, FUFA has been giving updates about the preparations. A Twitter user, @ThelostbrazilianMosheOfficial, commented on one of the posts, labeling Micho ‘unfit’ to improve the players.

“Our players deserve someone better than Micho. They need a coach who can improve them,” said @ThelostbrazilianMosheOfficial.

However, Micho seems to be not the one to lie low on Twitter.

He replied;

“Absolutely respecting your opinion despite believing it is not what is being said but who is talking.”

I am by far the best coach that has ever stepped on the soil of Uganda. My records speak volumes. If I can’t improve your players, then nobody can.”

Micho was first appointed as Cranes coach in 2013. His notable accomplishments are the Cecafa title in 2015 and leading the Cranes to qualification for the Africa Cup of Nations for the first time in 38 years.

Does that make him the best coach ever to step on the soil of Uganda?
