The Cape Verde team might be out of the ongoing AFCON in Ivory Coast, but many football fans are still rooting for it—not to return to play but rather to host the next AFCON.

Although the next AFCON is scheduled to take place in Morocco, many fans are humorously asking the Confederation of African Football to reconsider the hosting decision and take Africa’s most prestigious tournament to Cape Verde.

And do you know the reason the fans are giving? It’s because Cape Verde has beautiful women.

During the South Africa-Cape Verde quarter-final game, the cameraman repeatedly showed several beautiful women donning the Cape Verde jersey, and according to several reactions, the majority of fans seemed to have been impressed.

Hence, many are saying, “South Africa won the game, but Cape Verde won their hearts.”

One fan said, “I speak for every African football fan when I say Cape Verde should host the next AFCON. A beautiful island as well.”

Another commented, saying, “Cape Verde thrilled us both on the pitch and off it.”

Cape Verde is an archipelago and island country off West Africa in the central Atlantic Ocean, consisting of ten volcanic islands with a combined land area of about 4,033 square kilometers. The resident population in the country is estimated at 500,000 people.

Though the country is famous for its warm tropical climate, volcanic islands, wonderful musicians, and delicious cuisine, they can now add beautiful women, as claimed by soccer fans.
