Team Brewers gear up for third edition of the Tusker Lite Mt. Rwenzori Marathon

The anticipation for the Tusker Lite Mt Rwenzori Marathon scheduled for August 24, in Kasese is growing as runners from various running clubs, including UBL’s Team Brewers, Team Matooke, and the Hashers, continue to meet weekly in preparation for the marathon.

UBL’s Team Brewers Running Club converged at Uganda Breweries yesterday evening for yet another collective activity, running a 5km route around Luzira ahead of the marathon which is marking its third staging this year.

The event saw participation from the UBL staff, marathon enthusiasts and brand custodians including Project Manager Patience Aguti who joined in on the activity.

“The excitement for the third of edition of the Tusker Lite Mt Rwenzori Marathon is truly infectious. I love the energy and enthusiasm of everyone planning on being with us in Kasese. We can’t wait to welcome runners and tourists to this spectacular event,” she said.

The Team Brewers event served as a precursor to the main marathon, reinforcing the brand’s commitment to promoting fitness and well-being among the company’s staff and the larger community.

“Our brand custodians and staff members alike are thrilled about the marathon, which is expected to draw over 4,000 participants, including both runners and tourists. We are excited for what is yet to come,” she added.

The Tusker Lite Mt. Rwenzori Marathon promises an unforgettable experience, offering participants the chance to run on a certified race course for the 10km, 21km, and 42km distances.

This year’s edition is expected to have a significant economic impact on the Kasese region, while also enhancing sports tourism and highlighting the importance of environmental conservation.
