Uganda women’s national basketball team captain, Jane Asinde, has taken a major step in her career by signing with Henan Phoenix, a top-tier Chinese basketball club, marking the start of her professional journey in China.

Asinde’s move follows an impressive stint with JKL Lady Dolphins this year, where she played a key role in helping the team secure their fourth National Women’s Basketball Championship title in the playoffs.

She joins Henan Phoenix, a well-regarded team in the Women’s Chinese Basketball Association (WCBA), where she will compete at one of the highest levels of women’s basketball in Asia. Based in Henan Province, the club has a strong reputation for fostering talent and maintaining a competitive edge in the WCBA.
