Baffudde FC triumphs in grand finale as champions of the St. Lawrence League

In an electrifying close to the Guinness sponsored St. Lawrence League on Sunday, Bafudde FC clinched the title as champions, solidifying their season-long dominance despite a hard-fought 1–0 loss to Vandals FC in their final game. The St. Lawrence League is an alumni league for the St. Lawrence Academy, Schools, and Colleges.

After consistently sitting atop the league table, Bafudde FC ended the season with 19 points, making them the undeniable winners of the league.

This action-packed season saw intense competition with Dream Team FC coming in close on Bafudde’s heels, finishing in second place with a commendable 17 points.

Both teams showed incredible grit and determination throughout the tournament. In the meantime, throughout the day and the prize giving ceremony, Guinness added an extra layer of excitement as fans sipped on the stout and enjoyed the experience.

Reflecting on the season’s thrilling finale and the dedication of all teams, League Chairman David Kiwanuka remarked, “The St. Lawrence League has been a remarkable display of friendship, talent, and resilience. Every team gave their all on the pitch, and Bafudde FC’s hard work truly paid off. We’re incredibly grateful to Guinness for their continued sponsorship, which has without a doubt added excitement and prestige to the league.”

The St. Lawrence League is one of several esteemed school leagues supported by Guinness, reinforcing the brand’s commitment to football, networking, and fostering brotherhood.
