Just three days after unveiling Nemanja Milincic as their new head coach, SC Villa has been left scrambling for a replacement following the Serbian’s abrupt departure over contractual disagreements.

Milincic, who was expected to lead the record league champions into the upcoming season, returned to Serbia before officially taking charge of the team. According to sources close to the club, the coach walked away after discovering significant discrepancies between the initial terms he had agreed to and the final contract presented to him upon arrival in Uganda.

Reportedly, Milincic had initially agreed to a monthly salary of $4,000 (approximately Shs14.5 million). However, the revised contract he received stated a lower figure—$3,000 (around Shs10.8 million). The unexpected change is said to have triggered the fallout.

SC Villa had officially unveiled Milincic on Friday but did not disclose the duration of his contract or other key terms at the time. His arrival had sparked excitement among fans, especially as he was set to become the fourth Serbian coach to take the reins at Villa Park, following in the footsteps of Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojević, Srdjan Zivojnov, and Dusan Stojanovic.

Milincic’s appointment came shortly after the club parted ways with Morley Byekwaso, who had served as head coach during the previous campaign.

His premature exit leaves SC Villa’s preparations in limbo, forcing the club to begin yet another search for a suitable candidate ahead of the new season.
