Tales Lounge and Bar in Bukoto was packed to the brim yesterday as the Guinness Matchday delivered an exciting Premier League experience for the fans.

Super Sunday had soccer fans in anticipation of the results as Manchester City hosted Liverpool at the Etihad Stadium.

Hosted by Nation Media’s Brian Mulondo, this Guinness Matchday experience, hosted in partnership with SuperSport, brought together Premier League enthusiasts, mainly Man City and Liverpool fans, and some neutral fans who were eager to take in all the action game day 11 had to offer.

In Manchester, Pep Guardiola marked his 1,000th game as a manager in style as City swept aside Liverpool 3-0. Erling Haaland put City ahead with his 99th Premier League goal after missing a penalty, while Liverpool’s brief hope was dashed when Virgil van Dijk’s equaliser was ruled out.

A deflected strike from Nico González doubled City’s lead before halftime, and Jérémy Doku sealed the win with a brilliant third, tormenting Liverpool’s defence on his 100th appearance for the club.

The result had Man City fans gloating over Liverpool fans who tried to have their team excused by blaming the coach, Arne Slot. This win gave Manchester City a boost making them second on the table.

At Tales, fans won Guinness-branded merchandise and gift hampers courtesy of the matchday minutes, as revellers sipped on cold bottles of Guinness throughout the event.

Guinness Brand Manager Denise Nazzinda said the Tales Lounge matchday experience is a testament to the brand’s ongoing commitment to delivering memorable Premier League moments for fans.

“Football is the number one game that unites people from all walks of life, and watching it is one of the ways we release social tension. As a brand, we bring that experience to our consumers through the Guinness Matchday,” she said.

The Guinness Matchday at Tales gave fans an unforgettable experience, and though Liverpool walked alone after their loss to City, Guinness was there to lift their spirits.
