The I&M Bank Serena 63 Golf Series returns to the Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort and Spa this Saturday, October 3rd, for its second quarterly tournament of the 2026 season.
The series returns with participation numbers rising and a new quarter leader emerging in the race for the season’s top honours.
A total of 139 golfers have registered for the series so far, up from 94 participants recorded during the previous quarter.
Henry Kibuuka leads the standings after an impressive quarter in which he accumulated 178 points. He is followed by Dr. Sebaale Kato, the first-quarter leader, who collected 160 points, while Hon. John Byabagambi sits third on 138 points.
Former series winner Dave Plendeleith is joint fourth alongside Elijah Luutu, winner of this year’s Seniors Open at the Johnnie Walker Uganda Open Golf Championship.
The second quarterly tournament will bring together Serena 63 members and non-members, with golfers competing for prizes across a range of categories. The day’s programme will also feature awards and a dinner, providing an opportunity for participants to celebrate the competition and the growing community around the series.
The tournament comes as Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort and Spa continues to enhance its facilities and overall experience for golfers. The resort recently launched Hole 3 and upgraded its deck, adding to the improvements being made around the golf course and resort.
Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort and Spa Golf Director Theo Van Rooyen said the venue is ready to welcome golfers for another major event on the Serena 63 calendar.
“The place is fantastic and we have continued to invest in making the experience even better for our golfers. With the launch of Hole 3 and the upgraded deck, there is a lot for golfers to look forward to. They should expect the very best throughout the day,” Van Rooyen said.
I&M Bank Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications Annette Nakiyaga said the increase in participation reflects the growing appeal of the series.
“We are delighted by the response to the I&M Bank Serena 63 Golf Series and the continued growth in participation. Seeing more golfers join the series and compete consistently speaks to the excitement the tournament has generated. We are proud to be part of a platform that brings golfers together and creates memorable experiences beyond the game,” Nakiyaga said.
The Saturday event will be played in a four-ball format, with a full field expected after the draw filled up ahead of the event.
The event will also feature a Monaco-themed 19th Hole Experience. Guests can expect an elegant, relaxed atmosphere, with attendees encouraged to embrace the resort casual dress code for the evening.
