The Minister of Works and Transport Gen Edward Katumba Wamala has ordered the suspension of a section of Uganda Airlines staff following a viral video of a man vending grasshoppers (Nsenene) onboard.

“I have spoken to the leadership of the airline to take action against the staff who were in charge when this happened,” said Katumba in a tweet.

On Friday, the video of the man shouting “It’s 10,000 shillings” went viral on social media. The yet-to-be-identified man was selling nsenene to seated passengers in the economy class on Uganda Airlines plane.

The video attracted mixed reactions from members of the public with many describing the act as being substandard and demeaning of the airline status.
