Social media is trending with images and videos of a man who has been deceiving men by pretending to be a woman.

According to reports, the man attracted a number of men who would then press for intimacy but be rejected by never-ending stories.

Social media acknowledges that the man might have broken the law, but they also think that the people who were filming—whom they assume to be police officers—may have done so as well.

The alleged police officers must be detained for computer abuse, according to a section of social media users.

The newly amended Computer Misuse Act 2022, prohibits any person from writing, sending, or sharing information that is likely to ridicule, degrade, or demean another person, tribe, religion, or gender.

If found guilty, the punishment includes a fine of up to Shs 10 million, up to 10 years in prison, or both.

Here are a few of the reactions.

Why would you force someone to undress so you can record them. Isn't that indecent assault? Haven't you therefore forced someone into pornography which is illegal. That was unprofessional of whoever recorded and if they were @PoliceUg officers, they need to be reprimanded. pic.twitter.com/loHvuGz3a0

Granted he might have been extorting money from his fellow men but the idea of undressing him to the point of forcing him to pull out his tiny private parts was uncalled for, this was so stupid of the men & women in uniform. Suspects have rights & their rights must be respected! pic.twitter.com/iti07y0xHh

The Lawyer in me is active.?

Who did the tests to conclude that she is “man”?

She can be a woman/female without necessarily having breasts.?

Undressing her and taking her pictures was an infringement on her right to privacy. https://t.co/PC3slB5gjU

This is where computer misuse law should be applied. Did they ask for his permission to film him or post on social media?

True definition of inhuman and degrading treatment. Human rights activists should say something. @drstellanyanzi this man deserved a better treatment.
