Singleton lights up the Tusker Malt Uganda Golf Open grand finale

On Saturday, October 29th, Uganda Breweries Limited (UBL) under their Reserve Brand- Singleton, treated golfers to an unforgettable 19th hole experience at the Tusker Malt Uganda Golf Open finale that took place at Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort & Spa in Kigo.

Singleton spiced up the 19th hole experience with an exclusive set up, that came with well-lit multi-sensory bars, elegantly dressed ushers, mini mentorships, and the most affordable bottle service any one can ever come across at the Serena the Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort & Spa.

The premium 19th hole experience kicked off with a sensory Scotch journey, that was conducted through a whisky mentorship session, by the Diageo bar academy mixologists, who educated golfers about the flavoury side of the Single Malt whisky.

The golfers had a first-hand experience of the amazing singleton journey of flavor and taste, with free cocktail servings that came in three flavors; The Speyside Sour; a delicious speyside take on a classic with the Singleton (12years), shaken with lemon, simple syrup and pineapple juice. Then, The Singleton & Berries; a fresh and fruity libation with Singleton (12years), shaken with simple lemon syrup, strawberry puree and topped with a dash of fizz. And lastly, The Singleton & Ginger, that comprised of spicy and delicious notes of ginger that made for a delightful entry into the Singleton of Dufftown 12 years.

However, the chocolate pairing experience seemed to be the guests’ favorite, as many female guests kept ordering for more throughout the fun-filled evening.

Zimbabwean National and pro golfer- Robson Chinhoi, was crowned the Pros’ Open winner amidst fireworks display and loud cheers.

Chinhoi who had taken a steady lead since the first day of the four-day long Pros’ Open, was awarded a trophy, prizes, and took home Shs 21m of the pros Shs 100m kitty.

Speaking at the event, UBL Managing Director- Mr Andrew Kilonzo, re-emphasised the organisation’s commitment towards growing the game of golf in Uganda; “We are committed to the growth of golf in Uganda, and you can count on us for continued support. Our emphasis is on making golf more accessible and inclusive,” he said.

Kilonzo also urged golfers to consider Singleton- the finest single malt, and Johnnie Walker, as the gifts to give during this festive season; “We are heading into the festive season, we implore you to purchase.

Christine Kyokunda, the Singleton Brand Manager re-echoed Kilonzo’s words on the unwavering support for the game of golf; “Tonight, we wanted to re-affirm our support for the game of golf in Uganda, by giving golfers an unforgettable experience that we hope will stick in their memories of the 2022 Tusker Malt Open. Our commitment is unwavering, and I cannot wait to see what next year brings,” she said.

With speeches and prize giving out of the way, guests took to the dance floor and danced the night away to Janzi band’s live jams.
