President Museveni asks for 18 more advisors, brings total to 163

Where do you get advice or guidance? Well, the presidency is the top office in the country and critical decisions that shape the future of millions directly or indirectly somewhat depends on the office. For this reason, the president is entitled to having advisors. Advisors on several issues like agriculture, wealth creation, security, poverty, health, et al. An advisor is normally a person with more and deeper knowledge in a specific area and usually also includes persons with cross functional and multidisciplinary expertise.




President Museveni currently has 145 advisors. Apparently, he has asked Parliament to create room for 18 more in the next financial year. That will bring the total to 163!

The presidency has also requested for Shs 2.6bn to facilitate 10 new resident district commissioners (RDCs) in the newly created districts and 150bn to clear outstanding presidential pledge arrears.
